Leverpresso Orbit
There is a beauty that resides where form and function harmonize. I have been using the Leverpresso Pro for some time now, and I really like that it is compact yet capable of brewing delicious espresso. The Leverpresso Orbit now comes with a functional stand, making it even easier to use and more beautiful. It is also great that an extra hole has been added to the mounting clamp. With the Pro, while I’m filling the basket with coffee, I set the main unit on the stand, pour in hot water, and preheat it. Then, I empty out the water and attach the portafilter. When I do the same thing with the Orbit, it becomes somewhat unstable on the stand. This is because the way the portafilter fits into the stand has changed between the Pro and the Orbit, but I welcome this change. With the Orbit, I changed my workflow to attach the portafilter to the unit before preheating. The added holes work very well when pouring in the hot water and when draining it. I’m even tempted to drill extra holes in the Pro model I own. There is just one thing I would like you to consider improving regarding the Orbit: the material or finish of the lever. Perhaps due to poor maintenance, the lever on the Pro model corroded and the coating peeled off, so I had to replace it. It would be excellent if the lever were made of, for example, CNC-machined stainless steel. I imagine this will be expensive, so offering it as a replacement part would be fine. I would certainly buy it.
