What You Need
-
Leverpresso
-
Freshly ground coffee (18 g recommended)
-
Boiling water (around 95°C)
-
Tamper (comes with the Leverpresso)
-
Portafilter basket (pressurized or non-pressurized)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Preheat (Optional)
Although Leverpresso doesn't require preheating, you can rinse it with hot water to warm the components if desired.
2. Prepare the Coffee Grounds
Use freshly roasted beans for best results. Grind them finely (espresso grind). Measure 18 g of grounds and load them into the portafilter basket.
3. Tamp the Grounds
Use the provided tamper to press the coffee down firmly. Aim for 20 kg of pressure for an even puck. A flat, level surface helps prevent channeling.
4. Assemble the Leverpresso
Insert the portafilter basket into the base. Secure it tightly. Attach the chamber and lid, making sure everything is locked in place.
5. Add Hot Water
Pour boiling water (about 95°C) into the water chamber. Be careful not to overfill.
6. Pull the Levers Up
Lift both levers to allow water to enter the brewing chamber. Wait a couple of seconds to saturate the grounds.
7. Start Extraction
Slowly press the levers down with steady pressure. The recommended extraction time is about 25–30 seconds for a double shot. You’ll see espresso flowing into the cup below.
8. Enjoy Your Espresso
Once the extraction is complete, disassemble and clean the parts. Sip and savor your barista-quality espresso.
